In the historic heart of Montebelluna, a 1925 palazzo has been transformed into a highly automated boutique hotel. Il Castelletto celebrates the building’s centenary by combining architectural heritage with advanced digital hospitality, offering a personalised guest experience that balances authenticity, comfort and sustainability.
Designed by Squared Architects, the restoration follows a conservative approach in line with heritage principles: exposed solid brickwork has been carefully cleaned and consolidated, breathable lime mortars employed, and locally sourced stone enhanced through natural treatments. The Liberty-style cornice has been recovered through reversible interventions, while the segmental-arched windows retain their original profiles and proportions, incorporating high-performance frames consistent with the historic design.
Sustainability is integral to both the architectural and operational concept. Responsibly sourced materials and natural finishes reduce environmental impact, while energy consumption is managed through intelligent scenarios and sensor-based systems.
The interiors reveal a refined palette of natural oak, marbles such as Verde Alpi, satin brass and soft textiles. Lighting is atmospheric yet functional, enhancing the restored spaces. Technology is discreetly embedded throughout, allowing smart systems to blend seamlessly with the architecture and ensuring that innovation remains intuitive and in harmony with the building’s historic character.
