Project description
Located in Shek Kong, in the New Territories of Hong Kong, this new private residence is designed around a sequence of gardens and courtyards. The house is organised in an L-shaped plan that wraps a central landscaped courtyard, so that every main living space opens onto greenery and benefits from natural light.
The architecture is defined by simple, solid volumes clad in large-format stone-effect panels. At ground level, full-height glazing dissolves the boundary between inside and outside, allowing the living areas to extend into the garden. Above, a roof terrace with a glass balustrade and planting offers a private outdoor space with views over the surroundings.
The landscape is an integral part of the design. Sculpted pines, grasses and stone elements create a calm, contemplative setting, while stepping stones and timber decks connect the house to the garden and lead visitors gently from the entrance to the courtyard.
With a gross internal area of 1,650 m² on a site of 8,100 m², the project is currently in detail design. Its ambition is a contemporary home that feels sheltered and serene, where architecture and landscape are conceived as one.
